For a biologist your understanding of sperm seems pretty inadequate.
Surely you should be aware that it is motility that is more important although numbers are also important. Its a race to fertilise the ovum, then comes the numerical value of each sperm helping to break down the ovum cell wall to enable one sperm to enter and trigger division.
How does "edification" fit into your post? you aren't offering Pinto a moral lesson.....
