If someone has trespassed on your property and is stealing from you, the law should let you protect yourself and your property as you see fit.
The police certainly can't.
The same rules should apply regardless of race etc. If you don't want the consequences, don't trespass and steal.
At last a real magistrate rather than an over educated politically adjusted snob.
