I think we all have been in the markets long enough to realise there are trends within trends. Sure spikes to occur but the main trend is up for sure. Markets do not go up or down in a straight line. Wouldn’t it be lovely if they did! The spike could have been short covering once they realised the top wasn’t in. Anyway, spikes of varying degree happen every day for various reasons.
