Im QE have you read Ian Frazer the man who saved a million lives its an incredible read if you havent, some of the hurdles he has overcome to get Gardasil to market is incredible. His detemination for progressing science and saving lives seems almost insatiable, the big legal battle Ian frazer and Peter Turvery were involved in, also when he was awarderd Australian of the year in 2006 he used to spotlight to raise $354 million dollars for the Translational Research Institute described as "a 32,000 square metre facility and one of the only buildings of its kind in the world,the TRI a one stop science shop where discoveries can be made, tested and manufactured in house" which will save time and money keeping it all in one place.

Yes the vaccine side of the business is more risk but if theres anyone who can pull it off its Profesor Ian Frazer, hes created a vaccine before, its being developed in one of the best research facilities in the world, he is known globally not just because he won Australian of the year but because of the push he gave for a global roll out of Gardasil (he even used $1 million of his own money to get the vaccine used in Vanuatu), if phase IIa goes well he will get the backing from big pharma not just because of his prior record and experience dealing with CSL and Merck & Co but because of his determination and love of the work he does. He isn't a man motivated by money it also says in the book that someone from China rang up offering him $5 million dollars to teach their scientists and he turned it down because of his commitment to his own projects.
