This is a standard pattern for a lot of spec stocks. First they trade on speculation and rumours of blue skies. This can happen for years, but often there's a point on the chart that you can (retrospectively) point at and say that was the peak. After that it is all downhill if they don't manage to support expectations with real developments. Shame I learned that after the fact.
