"Have the circumstances in which politicians work changed over the past 50 years?"

Some of the better leaders of the past had the gumption to make big decisions. Then move with them!!
Presently our current crop pf politicians are working only at the peripherals of politics to gain votes.

For those that can't understand the significance......we are in stalled mode!!
In other words a poll of 1000 odd people contributes more to politics than the voters in the electorates.
