Air New Zealand’s chief financial officer Jeff McDowall will leave the airline after the completion of a planned capital raise in 2021.
McDowall has been at Air New Zealand for more than 20 years, with roles including acting chief executive after the departure of former airline boss Christopher Luxon in 2019.
His resignation is yet another blow for Air New Zealand’s executive team, which has lost more than 100 years of experience in recent months, something which has raised concerns with the airline’s biggest union partner. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, which coincided with former Walmart president Greg Foran taking over as chief executive, five of the airline’s nine executives have left, including McDowall.
