Unfortunately the deal with Nippon feels like a last ditch effort to keep the company afloat. The fact that the announcement came so close to the full year results indicates they were in deep trouble had this JV not been announced prior to. In that event BSL was in a weak and vulnerable position virtually having to submit whatever Nippon felt was a deal in their best interests. Somehow I don't think this will be the end of the Nippon negotiations and don't be surprised of further announcement in the future, even dare I say a full takeover where BSL will have absolutely no say in the outcome.
