To me it is more like taking the 1st step. No one is taking the risk of taping out a new chip. Brainchip as a company does not want to tape out a new chip after what happens to akida 1000. And even worse brainchip does not have financial capabilities and market reach for taping out a new chip. End result we have to wait and watch.
