aircraft maintainence a380 story

True story - no exaggerations....
On the 1st July I caught a flight from Singapore to Sydney on an A380.
It was about 15 min past departure time after everyone had boarded, when the Capt came on and said "... My deepest apologies for the delay. This is a brand new aircraft delivered from Tolouse just a few hours ago. We have just discovered that we are missing a 'vital component' that was not delivered with the a/c and which we cannot depart without. We have our people scrambling around for a solution and hopefully we should be away shortly."
After a delay of about 45min, we departed with no probs thereafter.
I was wondering - what could this 'missing component' have been? Any aviation people here that could shed light?
