We were leaving Christchurch a few days after the third big quake had hit the city in 2011. (Fortunately that one caused not nearly as much damage as the first two).
As the pilot was giving us details for the flight he concluded with "... And things could get a bit bumpy, but once we get off the ground we should be fine!"
