I have been playing around with the Abra app and they currently have no agents in NY or LA. I'm tempted to be the first person in NYC to become an Agent but am reluctant to promote their product.
A few things to note -
The tellers/agent's can set their own fee in the form of a %. The only agent's I have found are in the Philippines at their equivalent to FedEx (http://www.lbcexpress.com/) and http://tambunting.com.ph/ the local pawn shop. They have hundreds of agent's at these stores across the Philippines. It makes sense as you usually see Western Union/MoneyGram at these types of stores.
To the mods who removed my post previously with a link to the Abra Google Play download page - this App is a direct competitor to DigitalX and highly relevant to the conversation IMO. I think most on here would be interested to know how their app is doing in comparison to AirPocket.
