This is not April 1st 1996 and I'm not dialing up my local BBS on my 2400 baud modem to spend the next two weeks tying up my parents phone line to download Hexen. Only to find the last of 42 .arj archive files to be corrupted.
People still don't really trust the Internet, a lot of people do blindly trust it, but that trust is misplaced - see Taylor Swifts nude photos or Bitcoin heists. People just expect requests to go off into the aether, perform some sort of magic and do something. The problem is you end up having your Facebook profile stolen and your pictures stuck up on a dating site. The next thing you know you are being approached by some morbidly obese person who thinks you two have been married for 2 years.
I'd just say be careful on this one (I'm not trying to be a down ramper), despite the significant rise in SP. Most software start ups have a working, useful, successful product with a solid user base before IPO.
