I think I am more positive about the idea. I don't think it sounds any less risky than having a stranger drive you home or meet a stranger to go stay in their apartment, or buying goods from a stranger on eBay. More likely the agent would be something like a newsagent or a cafe (same people who are Western Union agents now), rather than a random person on the corner. If you send half your salary home each week, then any saving on the % fee is going to be attractive.
I do agree though the SP rise over the last 2 days is mostly hype, as they don't even yet have this product up and running but the hype has got me back in the black so not complaining.
