The recent outbreak in SA may hold us back from $2 a while longer. It is too early to tell if the health response was fast and strong enough to prevent another VIC-like situation. SA's chief health officer stated that the strain has a "very short incubation period" and that this means "when somebody gets exposed, it is taking 24 hours or even less for that person to become infectious to others". NSW is not closing its borders to SA (last I heard), so another incident similar to the Crossroads Hotel may occur and then any travel bubbles, present or planned, would be in jeopardy.
Hopefully SA used the right response at the right time.
