It my assessment that Murdoch is growing increasingly concerned that if the Coalition loses the next election there will be a Royal Commission into the media along the lines spelled out in Kevin Rudd's APH petition.
Murdoch may therefore be attempting to sanitise his media operations in Australia and concentrate more on accumulating carbon credits from his farm near Yass and what's about to happen to Glencore's coal assets.
