I checked out the shorting volume yesterday and it was over 2.6m shares. According to shortman that was around 35% of volume. I get the feeling the numbers from today will make it look small though.
Large volume selling today and over 25m shares have changed hands.
My volume tracker tends to only show ASX stades to it can be a bit annoying and my platform shows Chi-x too.
In approximating though my ASX data shows around 15m shares have changed hands today. This is more than the last two days combined (6.6 & 7.3). In the last 3 months there were 9 days with volume over 15m shares noting we still have more than half the trading day to go.
The resilience in the face of this sell off is the positive I am going to draw.
There sure are some big players wanting to push the price down. I am trusting this is short term and we will see buying pressure return much as it occured at the start of this year.
That is not me saying I wouldn't mind a very positive announcement right about now!
