As an investor id be buying in on profitability on current high interest rates before waiting for the debt restructure which will happen. I dont rule out ShanShan helping us with this with their access to CITIC etc. Itochu who are a Japanese major shareholder of ShanShan are also linked to them. CITIC provided $3.5b USD to Tianqi not long ago for them to buy their stake in SQM.
Last week itochu setup a joint venture capital fund with them for $1.8b USD with the aim of getting japanese startups into the chinese market. This is its second biggest investment with CITIC since 2015 when it invested over $5b USD then. They plan to start investing in August. Id consider 24M a startup and know another investment they could fund to link into their 24m battery supply chain due to start production in 2020.
It's all getting very interesting...
