I hope your strategy works out for you, I should think just about all the investors who hold predominantly for long periods and don't trade have learnt that through trial and error, I don't know to many investors who didn't get into the game thinking they were going to earn good money by trading in one form or another, most can't!

I've seen many posts saying how it was easier in the old days to trade, and it was the case, but it's always been easier to buy a stock and leave it alone and let the business cycle complete to reap the rewards.

Every investor I know has learnt that through trial and error.

The biggest thing to accomplish, that will make you money, is to learn to do nothing, patience is the key.
