    Thanks - just trying to help the newbies. I am one of the posters who does think the SP matters. I suppose if I was 20 years younger I might be more sanguine about that but at my age sitting on something for 5 or 10 years isn't an option.

    Besides, even for longer term investors, entry timing is useful. Buying at the wrong time and putting oneself under unnecessay pressure whilst watching the SP heading south isn't a great start.
