I don't think you will get clarification until we get the 4C and the half - and also a heads up on what orders came in before 31 Dec. that invoices haven't gone out for (before 31 Dec).
This is the problem in trying to work out stuff before close of business at a particular date.
It's also a problem for public company investors with limited accounting knowledge - which means that discussion forums where we have some people up with accounting is really helpful - god, I know I need help with it.
I must say I am very surprised in the last week though to find just so many people in AJX and have been in for quite a while who still struggle with the difference between revenue and cash receipts.
To me - this quarter and half - is the most crucial for us to be over just exactly what all this stuff means - to give us, finally a decent look at where we are going.
Take for instance - say (assuming there is any) - orders that come in between now and 31 Dec. - and there are expense items billed to those orders - but, the orders aren't complete and invoiced - well, those expenses will show as liabilities - but, without that knowledge and without knowing where you will see those costs show up - one could easily get the wrong idea of what is happening.
Accounting to me is a very mysterious thing - something that I always like a very helpful educated person to sit beside me and point thing out - because to the layman - I find it is often about as clear as Black Sambuca.
Now - a BIG bitch of mine is that when one trys to compare companies on the ASX - with things like profits, revenues, margins - the whole shebang --------- there is no standard - they are all over the place. When we recently did a comparison of companies - it was just a nightmare - and, one had to second guess a lot of it - and, it took days of work - so, those companies that compare business performance and indices and the like in getting a handle on the rem. of directors for instance - well, IMO - it's all formulaic BS - I just do NOT believe that they have trained teams who sit down and go through things with a fine tooth comb to get an accurate comparison - and, after I see most 'analytic' reports from investment houses - I am even more certain of it than ever. - anyway - that's my gripe for the day (so far
