"Ended up selling 90% of the AKE shares at $10 each"
"Happy to sit in cash for a couple of years"
"Prefer to miss gains than get a loss"
So... what you expected to happen hasn't happened yet; in fact the price actually went
up 40% from where you sold....and in only a few months...??? wow.
Yet... you now warn us of what you "expect" to happen...??
hmmm.. ok.
Now, that's not to say that some disaster recession is NOT going to happen... I certainly don't know that.
You have your risk appetite and reasons for concern and that's fine.
But... even a simple trailing stop-loss strategy might have put another 40% on the plate for you...?? That's significant imo.
Interesting.
I look at vehicle sales during the GFC "mega-disaster" (i.e. the relatively minimal impact on global sales, considering the "extreme stress in global financial markets" ) and am not at all concerned about the ongoing growth of EVs and strong Li demand, recession or not.
I've been hearing about the excessive US debt and imminent collapse of the US dollar etc for over a decade... yet they just keep kicking the can, printing money relentlessly. A collapse might be next year, might be next decade..? IMO those in control don't want it "on their watch" and have significant power/tools to control this to a large extent. Time will tell!
Just IMO of course!
