You can tell maybe the SP has possibly reached a current peak the moment the set and forget crowd run in with the errors of your ways argument on selling and buying with CGT etc.

Lets be very clear.

If you are an Australian citizen, and hold for 12 months then you get the CGT Discount (Not Traders designated by the AT0).

If you sell and rebuy and intend to hold for another 12 months then you get the discount again from the new buy date 12 months later.

Yes you will incur a capital tax event, but you will gain the benefit of a lower share price purchase, IF YOU CAN DO THAT, at your next CGT event.

If you have the funds to support this strategy it can work well. But the tax implications should be considered. IMO
