With this up ramp, down ramp stuff
Some level of experience is involved imo
Newcomers to the Game on the general threads, with $ signs in their eyes, only want positive posts........ no matter what and will thumb up regardless.
Then at the other end of the table with the long termers in the general threads you have a certain lean towards etiquette with each other imo
ie When a regular or long term poster who writes mostly informatively ("Just the facts, Ma'am") but at times throws in an upramp/feel good post then out of respect I will give that post a thumbs up. I believe others do that as well. So at times you could say, we imo, are all guilty of giving a thumbs up for basically an "upramp" post.
But with the Chart Threads, different story. Experience and Know how is to the fore and in particular if you want to challenge a post............ know what you're talking about and dont let your mouth run off before your brain clicks into gear. You get found out! imo
Remember it takes all types but life goes on.
