But, a useful product never-the-less.
A "range strategy" is a common product strategy in not just technology products but almost every product.
It provides a range of price points that encourages more customer engagement.

The low-cost Akida Pico is the entry point that encourages more companies to jump onto the Akida product ladder. For many, it may well be sufficiently powerful to meet their requirements. But, having been encouraged to play with it, R&D people might conclude "we need something more powerful." Of course that then leads them up the product ladder to more powerful versions of Akida.

Possibly, BRN have been holding-out for a license fee structure that was too aggressive (asking too high a price).
Rather than lowering the price and losing credibility and undermining existing deals that are still in play, they've launched an entry level product.

Another possibility is that this started life as a custom product developed for a particular customer who didn't want to pay for the custom development up-front. The deal either fell over leaving BRN holding the baby (solution: launch it as Pico) - or - the deal was to let them have first bite at Pico to enable the customer to launch their product first In which case if there is an announcement - it might be a double whammy; new product + license deal.

As usual, just guessing - we know nuffink.

Not announcing this on the ASX - which for 99% of ASX companies would be a reflex action - suggests that it was deliberate.
It's almost as if they thought such an announcement would have a negative impact.
What would be the possible logic?

Clearly they think PICO is big news - it has been well publicized.

I am not being critical at all of BRN - I am just trying to work it out.
