This is awesome news.
Some of you may recall I posted about a chat I had with a particle physicist over a beer early last year, he's actually a Dean of Science for one of Australia's largest universities. Here's the link Post #: 52156672
What's exciting about Brainchip being used by Nasa is that it means our technology becomes a "national security" as it relates to rocket technology which is obviously a defence capability where cyber security is a concern.
In doing some further research I came across this ....
Australian Government - Defence Industry & Innovation
Title: Next Generation Technologies Fund CYBER Broad Area Call for Proposals - Project Title: Neuromorphic Computing for Edge-Based Cyber Security
Lodgment Proposals: Proposals must be lodged before 2:00 pm local time in the ACT on the 16 January 2020
Current Work: Current research at DST is investigating the application of spiking neural network processing techniques for online and adaptive characterisation of anomalies in representative edgebased computing platforms

Googling the Project title this... https://research.csiro.au/distributed-systems-security/october-2021/An efficient management of energy consumption of highly resource-limited edge computing nodes is a challenge. Past studies have limited or often simplistic focus on energy consumption factors considering computation or communication-only solutions, questioned by either costly hardware instrumentation or inaccurate software-specific limitations. This paper proposes a holistic and accurate energy measurement approach in RaspberryPi based edge computing infrastructure, thereby proposing an all-inclusive energy model. Our study identifies previously underestimated yet important factors and achieves a 95% accuracy in energy usage prediction.
Seems CSIRO Data61 have a proposal for edge based devices that optimise energy and cyber security.
Another thread to pull on if some of you have the time - back to work for me though!
