The original deal had Mercator funding the whole thing for a discount on the gas. On the reported likely gas volumes (attributable only to Pathfinder at this stage) it sounded a bit marginal to me at the time. Re Texas, I'm very happy that this time we won't be fannying about in the chalk.
BTW, what ever happened to Birch 3?...plugged? still puking fluids or a combination of the above? I don't suppose Halcon ever considered messing with it but the AKK speil at the time was that it needed a gas gathering plan?
