My coking coal producer mates are pretty confident that most steel will be made with traditional blast furnaces for decades yet.
The view is that so much capital has been spent setting up steel mills that they need a return from that capital before scrapping it and changing to green steel.
So some new steel mills will be green steel, but not many existing mills will be converted.
It doesn’t matter for AKO. There’s a premium for high grade product regardless of which mill it goes into.
