Hi and welcome.

The primary issue is the lack of certainty around the Malagasy mining code.

I created this thread to track the progress of the mining code in the forums of another company who are also operating in the same region of Madagascar - https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/progress-towards-the-mining-code.7911167/

The new mining code is in the process of being passed into law, and I have expectations that is should be done in the near term.

I originally had hopes for around now which is based on the first 100 days of the "new" (old) government being re-elected, but there is still work to be done before it is finalised.

The new mining code is a long time coming, and there have been multiple delays and setbacks, but this is a consequence of working in an emerging (and somewhat corrupt) country.

Corruption is prevalent, but nowhere near as bad as it has been previously, and the involvement of the World Bank and EU helps contain that in a number of ways so it is more in the background).
