The mining code has already been approved by the senate, so in theory it is just a formality as I do not believe the current round of elections will have an impact on the decisions that have been made.
I do agree that these elections (how clean or corrupt is not for me to say), have been a significant distraction and once the dust settles and the new Prime Minister is voted in, then it should just be a formality.
