Shallow workings date from the 1850s along Chewton Anticline; recorded historical roduction of 11,000 oz.
Within Wattle Gully – Ajax target corridor and located on the next anticlinal fold (Chewton Anticline) east of Wattle Gully.

Chewton Anticline
Two discordant,west-dipping reverse faults (Specimen Hill and Cemetery faults)diverging from the anticlinal axis into the east limb.
The sandstone dominated stratigraphy observed in the Wattle Gully mine is present on the Chewton Anticline.
No modern exploration in target zone due to limited access (Mining Licence and Exploration Licence held by different companies).
Past exploration efforts have focussed on shallow open pittable resources to the south of the Wattle Gully - Ajax target zone.
Application of Corridor Stacked Reef Model identifies an untested target within the Wattle Gully - Ajax target zone approximately 250m east of the Wattle Gully lode which contained 500,000 ozs.
