No - we fly in planes because they have been proven to be relatively safe - not because a "professional"says so. Re hospitals - dont trust doctors completely because even these "professionals" get it wrong and conveniently bury thier mistakes. Concrete ....can go on and on...... "professioinals" are human beings with human flaws - and on that basis i dont trust them explicitely ... not like you. I rely on my life experience and my ability to recognise when people are lying to me. And I have found - through experience - the "smarter" you think you are via education the more easily led you are because you justify your argument on the basis of being part of " the intelligensia". But really you dont present your arguments too well because you trying to dazzle all with your "brilliance".
