Al Gore served as Vice President of the USA during Bill Clinton's term in office. He has a Nobel Laureate as recognition of his expertise and work in the area of global climate change.

But what about Tony Abbott's qualifications and achievements in that regard? On just what basis does he speak other than protecting his own political hide?

I suggest that basis is pretty thin and note that his record is far more likely to be written in history accounting books on the other side of the ledger.
