Why is it about apportioning blame? Its very simple, fires are going to start anyway, no one would argue with that. You can't blame AGW for a fire starting.
But if its hotter and drier then - all else being equal - they will burn hotter, jump larger open spaces and fire breaks and generally be more destructive. That's just common sense.
If you were an insurance company are you going to be paying out more for fires in summer or in winter? When its cooler or hotter? When its drier or wetter?
Its just common sense, something that is in short supply here on HC.
