Well, it's hardly surprising that the much vaunted ALA scored zip, zilch, nada in terms of seats as predicted. It also shows that those conservatives here who call themselves the silent majority (you know who you are ) are, in fact, a noisy minority who for some unfathomable reason are concentrated here on HC.

What is clear is that the coalition has paid the price for being a party divided; This is partly the result of Turnbull's poor political judgement in not going to the polls as soon as he took over the reins and partly because of the Abbott conservatives who maintained an inordinate degree of control even with Tony gone.

It doesn't really matter now who actually wins. There's little to chose between them but I do hope that whatever minority government that is formed is run by a leader who knows how to deal and how to compromise. Otherwise we are in for three years of chaos.

Finally, @jimcross no more political posts from you until 3rd October in light of your loss of our wager.
