$5.5B market cap Canadian gold producer, Alamos Gold, has announced it is acquiring $10M market cap gold explorer, Manitou, with a price that works out to a 100% premium.

Alamos owns the Island Gold mine, which is strong cash-flow producer about 50 miles SSE of Silver Lake's Harte mine. Manitou's claims are just to the east of the Island mine, so the acquisition expands Alamos's land package.

This information is, admittedly, only tangentially-relevant to Silver Lake. I posted it as this general geographic area, around Wawa and White River Ontario is 'heating up', in my naive assessment. E.g., gold explorer Angus Gold has been claiming land all around Wesdome's Eagle mine, east of Wawa.

Experienced gold investors will know that 'nearology' doesn't prove, or even strongly-indicate, that adjacent ground will ever actually produce cash flow. Again, just noting that the general area is heating up; IMO this may be relevant given SLR's large claims package

Couldn't post a picture, but slide 6 here gives a overview of the region. https://manitougold.com/_resources/presentations/corporate-presentation.pdf
