    I’m not a farmer.
    But if the breeding stock are sold to slaughter then we have a much reduced agricultural sector. Just what will protein cost a few years out.
    In the madness of not knowing, can cows, sheep, in drought stricken areas not be taken to a central area in their shire.
    feed them and water them there. Truck in water and spillage to one location. Sure it will cost but we either pay now or later.
    I know this is stupid when talking dairy but it is time to think outside the box. Why is there no national spillage storage!
    Consolidate the costs. Government pays the costs. Must still be cheaper than a ME daycare scam.
    If the farmers could see their animals cared for they will be better able to envisage a safe future for themselves.
    Australia has become the reason WHY WE can’t rather than we can.
