The bottom line is the system is failing for the performance of the current govt and leader to be even considered acceptable!
Due to the mining boom and the wealth creation from the baby boomer/credit resource developments many are indifferent to this abuse and so are some of their children.
However, over time the initial euphoria of a new country exploits will wane as a more competitive footing will need to be set.
That is where the current political process, power structure and most likely be tested.
Eygpt, Greece, Libya are just the seeds of the shakeup that is globally where the values of the depression generations will come back to the fore occuring and will accelerate into the new century.
I think it will be interesting to see how the baby boomers will be treated when they are 100 years old by those in their teens and what the world will look like.
Eventually, the manipulations in all the markets including labour, government oligopolies etc.. simply will be not tolerated and denounced. Whether it takes 10,000 deaths or 2 million+ is another question.
The carbon tax will just slow things down and the youth will have a darker time. Companies will pass on the tax , housing prices forecast are lower and basically peoples activity will shut down!!!!
Labor why did this have to happen after Howard set us up for the future????
