fyffee, you said why don't other airlines send their work to Qantas if Australian workers were so good.
Did you know fyffee that only a few years ago we had many many client jet engines come into our shop at Qantas to be fully overhauled.... we were not only building our own engines but also made Qantas a fortune building client engines.
Fast forward to today, Qantas management has not only got rid of all the customer work, now our own engines are done overseas.... meanwhile our engine shop sits virtually empty with millions of $$ worth of tooling laying around and the smartest enginners in the world left absolutely dumbfounded.
A one way trip on the freighter to send the engine overseas is 80k ea way before the engine is even touched.
Qantas management must know something the rest of Australia don't.
