    Adding to the hospital experience:

I've been in the cardio ward as a patient. I can tell you that its a crazy exhausting experience. Inevitably there are alarms going off on machines all the time, as people easily disconnect leads in their sleep. You get woken up for regular ECGs, the stupid blood oxygen sensor on a finger keeps coming off. I end up with at least a dozen sticky patches all over my body.

You have to unplug part of the machinery to get up and go to the toilet. But no - you still have a wad of cables you carry, and need to wrestle with. Oh yeah - while you do that your alarm goes off to help your roommates relax.

I'm convinced that all the terrible sleep routine and physical discomfort from the machines adds significantly to recovery time.

Oh - when you do see your specialist its a 5 minute (max) encounter. Most of which is spent with the doctor catching up on all the data. I would love it if the specialist could review my data at home, or at their surgery / offices before coming in to the hospital. I'm certain that would increase the quality of their work.

I swear that just the hospital use of the patch will be a game changer for me.

Now the smartphone case? Well I expect that will help keep me out of hospital, as it will head off false alarms and provide me with the confidence I need to not go to hospital. Oh - when you've had an AMI, as I have, believe me you'll end up with false alarm visits to hospitals. Your life is not something to screw around with.
