Alarming News About CAN and escalating shorting

Hello All

I am a fairly novice stock trader so I seek the wisdom of those who are more experienced. How do you interpret the very large number of CAN shares being shorted on shortman:

There appears to be a steep incline in shorting from July --> September?

It seems at odds with the fact that CAN are now building this huge facility where they can make decent revenue.

Am I missing something - is there something else happening to make these people so confident in shorting CAN?

Please help as this is very new to me.
