My initial thought was these comments were actually quite embarrassing to GB and Otto.

I'm with @chainbeaker on his/her interpretation.
They are not in competition, so has no bearing on 88E, good results for them will be reflected to them. They won't care about GB/Otto at all, and why would they.

Otto might get a short term boost from 88E's results, but from where will this boost be from...what will the SP be when 88E's results come in? And if they don't get on with it, any boost, from starting price, might well be very short lived.

DW's body language indicated curiosity, scratch your head, not annoyance.

I also noted he said "What they had said publically before"...(I've mentioned Otto's reporting styles as curious before) and that they've obviously changed their strategy. Hmm, that strategy hasn't been conveyed...but many here (not me) have already deduced the same.
