should have
yes, there are a lot of things we should have
but, we didn't - so now, we have to go from where we are and where we are is clear
what Oz needs to do ---------- and how????? ain't easy. Is
1. House it's people
both with medium term plans AND execute them AND immediate acts - and execute them
2. Feed it's people - government to fund a lot more food going into food banks and address cost of living for basics however it can
3. Keep the populace healthy and fit
4. Educate the population ----------- properly, not just cheap job training.
All of that costs a LOT ------------- and Australia, the government - funded by tax - MUST pay, because Australia is the user - far more in need of the above than individuals.
And yes - that well will mean a LOT more debt ------------- so be it.
The problem with it isn't so much the politics - which is difficult --------- but, even if one could swing the politics and wake brain dead and culturally void Aussies into wakefulness - there's a problem -
no builders, no teachers, no scientists etc etc ------------- this is the chickens coming home from 40 years of 'saving money' and 'cut cut cut' and 'I can cut more than you can cut'
you do NOT build a nation by cutting - you build a nation by investing - and the biggest area of investment is ----------- in your people
if they are unhoused, housing stressed, unfed or fed badly, in poor health, uneducated -
then you country will never be a nation -------- you are going nowhere.
Australia must change or end up poor - and to change, we need cultural change first
and that is a very very big ask
