Sarah Williams Was the Newcastle woman of the year, from the deprived area of Newcastle in Northern NSW,
Sarah Williams is from an ALP stronghold and even the Woman of The Year award was appointed by the ALP led council, for being an indigenous child sexual assault survivor at the hands of her indigenous family.
The family had among other problems on top of violence, a lot of alcohol and drugs problems as she has reported previously.
Not a great thing for indigenous families is her story of being a survivor,
she has spoken out against family violence in indigenous families and the chronic ills of alcohol abuse.
