Why is it fair that those who earn the most keep getting slugged. On average every taxpayer uses the same infrastructure and systems provided by the govt. Those on lower incomes contribute bugger all to the tax system relative to those that earn more. It is fair to reduce some of the burden on those that earn more - they will always contribute more
