THIS POSTING IS MOSTLY ABOUT GAS -some comments duplicated.
-However, just in- -Latest news re nuclear- Albanese government signs Indo-Pacific deal supporting take-up of small modular reactors.
More $ to Foreign countries- before Australia ?

In my opinion - the following just adds 100% to the hypocrisy of this current Government- Is it bordering on:-
'treason' -- the action of betraying someone (the Australian People) or something (development of a foreign asset before an Australian asset of same/similar nature ) . (and now adding nuclear!!!!)

    GAS-
Our Australian Govt., is to take a stake in a Timor gas development ahead of an Australian project detailed below.

CURRENT GOV's ACTION- DOUBLE STANDARDS and HYPOCRICY .
    1
At The Moment Blatantly Apparent. Australia's recent offer to fast-track the Greater Sunrise offshore gas project in Timor-Leste......
Click on - Greater Sunrise development between East Timor and Australia (nsenergybusiness.com)

2.Coupled with Government's prolonged stalling of approval for 1 drill on PEP11 GAS Lease-as explained below ( It is not oil as spewed misinformation by some of the minority protestors ) It is appx 29klms offshore Newcastle-------------- ! drill rig and not 4-5 klms offshore.

3.TIMOR - A said multi million dollar lifeline extended to Timor-Leste for the Greater Sunrise gas project,
Promising expedited approvals and support, which stands
in stark contrast to the bureaucratic hurdles faced by
    AN AUSTRALIAN DOMESTIC PROJECT
-- to be FUNDED WITHOUT $1 of TAXPAYER MONEY.

    4. GO FIGURE P.M. Are you saying? - -
STUFF YOU AUSSIES - OVERSEAS DEVELOPMENTS FIRST ?

Is it important for all Australians to know ----the current Government's action - re Timor gas to benefit another country
    ahead of Australia by
spending taxpayer $$$s --------------over an Australian project costing taxpayers $0. ?

AUSTRALIA.. While the Albanese and the ALP are Stalling PEP11 approval for an Aussie investor base, privately funded to help back Australia’s future driven Transitional to renewables Natural Gas Energy Sector.
PEP11 has NOW become blatant political meddling for instilled political gains? The project is Court approved since Scott Morrison blocked it.

Note 1- no further Seismic testing needed on the lease ( completed and never any reported damage to seabed on its completion- another hot air bubble by a small bunch of screaming 'active uninformed protestors'. The gullible 'follow a leader' syndrome?
    - appears gas has been seeping from the sea bed of the proposed drill target, for many decades .
    - 1 small drill said to be no bigger than a small coffee table
    - Should gas be discovered and in quantity it may quickly solve all of NSW's gas problems and maybe OZ's looming lack of gas. It can be easily transported to shore via pipe(s). The project speculative- yes- yet many positives point to a hopeful success. One must be positive..
-Little, if any, environmental problems. But no doubt, from under rocks will protestors alight.....again with misinformation.
Note 2 It will cost taxpayers $0 and could save/add to $billions to OZ businesses. Even boost Government coffers ??

    Of interest re protestors:-
Note 3- Zaly Steggles an habitual campaigner to 'Stop PEP 11' - who should have been banished from parliament . Why:-- Said to have taken a $100k+ donation from a Coal Baron for her Campaign to join Parliament (?) Split the donation under the allowed $ donation cap, to avoid detection ?? My opinion at the donation time ---- 'Deliberate Deception to Aust Peoples'
Do not believe this - then you check it yourself. Are some Politicians beyond their own LAWS/REGULATIONS ?
Click- Zali Steggall defends donations from wealthy family with links to coal industry - ABC News

Note 4 -In the same area of PEP11 -Chris Bowen wants to plant many windmills -- Double Standards ???? Nah !

Note 5 - The 'Stop Gas' Stop Oil' activists' -have never been able to put a convincing answer to this question:-
'WHAT WILL REPLACE 'GAS' 'OIL' TO ALLOW CONTINUATION OF PRODUCTION OF MANY CURRENT NECESSITIES?'
    - Am aware of the bio-plastic product-- however from my research some challenges in long life under harsh/extreme conditions, costings, adaptability etc. Do not take my word - research yourself! Still more development to be had........Hope its successful!

(eg- tiny number of ITEMS-paints varnishes- some plastics-pipes-eye glass rims-phones-car/aircraft inter/exteriors-clothing-shoes-food containers-build materials etc etc etc)

    ALL ---PLEASE NOTE :-
CHRIS BOWEN (Climate Change) - MADELINE KING (Energy) Pollies- Have stated (not word perfect)
------ We will need gas to transit to 2030 -Zero by 2050. True - do your own research.
    VICTORIA
    -----
Oh! Even a Victoria Politician is now bleating ' We need GAS!!!' -What Victoria Nah !!!
----- Just now - Vic approves a gas exploration area - Is it in a world heritage site ? Nah come on ! Yep seems true - !!

Seems many of our Climate Change Brigade are starting to see the light and gaining a little common sense, yes commonsense- regarding GAS !

    OZ's OWN ENERGY SECURITY ???? --
Timor proposal should raise questions about Australia's commitment to fostering its own energy security while engaging in regional co-operation ? The Greater Sunrise project, located in the Timor Sea, has long been a subject of contention between Australia and Timor-Leste. Now, with Australia's sudden eagerness to facilitate its development, one cannot help but wonder about the motivations behind this apparent shift in policy. Can one trust any explanation by the current Administration ???

The following maybe too much for some to read, maybe covered above - but I believe paramount for a basic understanding of PEP11 lease - and possible benefits.
PEP11 has been held for many years and the exploration approval (currently awaited) is a lot more than just an exploration permit. It is now becoming a blatant political meddling for instilled political gains. Did Albanese state that his Government, if elected, would carry out political decisions based upon the letter of the law ? (not word for word). Another promise fit for the waste basket and an opportunity/vision for the future regarding possible Pep11 outcomes lost. What would it bring to the future of Australia and all constituents on a successful exploration. Also close to the 'biggest State ' The gas supply of a 'possible 6 TCF Natural Gas' and on Par with Timor Lestes Great Sunrise Natural Gas Project ? PEP 11 is at the Back Door of NSW and the largest coal exporting port in the world-- Newcastle. Kill that and how do we pay off our National DEBT ?

In the meantime the PEP11 project remains mired in regulatory uncertainty, and political shenanigans by the current Government and dating back to Scott Morrisons demise when he was PM and subject to Censuring, the first PM in Australia’s history (?). The federal court ordered removal of Scott Morisons decision regarding Pep11 exploration for Natural Gas. Now alas the current Government seems to be like ' the deer in the headlights'.
No approval yet BUT Timor ????????????????????????????????? Yep

And despite the potential to bolster domestic energy production and reduce reliance on imports, the Pep11 exploration project faces prolonged delays and regulatory roadblocks. This glaring disparity in Australia's approach to energy development raises questions about the current government's commitment to consistency and fairness in its policies - and Albanese's pre-election promise to 'follow the law?? . But first - extend a helping hand to its neighbours !! Australia must not neglect its own energy needs and the potential benefits of domestic projects like PEP11. As Australia seeks to navigate the complexities of energy policy, it must ensure transparency, fairness, and a coherent approach that serves both national interests and regional partnerships. That is not happening now -contrary to benefiting Australia .

--PEP 11 - 1 DRILL-GAS or NOT? - WHY DELAY - POLITICAL IDEOLOGY or bowing to a MINORITY to the DETRIMENT of THE MAJORITY ?
