I wanted to join another one only because I say they are a necessary evil.
They wouldn’t let me.
I fought them and even went into parliament to see a politician who advised me.
I wrote the union a letter and then the state head rang me personally and stated that after careful consideration that they had agreed to my requests.

I had similar experiences to u, but I rejoined the original Union when the delegate was replaced that I objected too!

What happened, I joined another Union in the intermit that was allied to my trade but not necessarily to the previous Union as a member because it wasn’t affiliated with that particular group.
Because of my reaction to a delegate who down graded the resolution that was eventually passed. It resulted in me not being accepted as an honorary member when I retired.
