I remember a personal experience with the CMFEU when I went to the construction site to replace a hydraulic hose on a scissor lift about 30 years ago. The head union rep. wouldn't let me on the sight tobrepsir it unless I joined the union I told him that I was a union member of an ACTU affiliated union, but he said that wasn't good enough. Luckily, they could drive the unit off-site to do the repair. So they were bullies back then, probably always have been.
