why do some posters deride people who've studied these diseases and treatments so much? it makes no sense at all to condemn academic experts.
Because those same academics deride other experts who seem to have a different view.
If you didn't know consensus is that the sky was blue and someone said it was red - you would believe them! Academics only know what they have been told, most have never researched anything.
