All that Albanese has said on this is to align Australia with the ROTW. There is nothing radical or outrageous and Morrison, from his attacking response, knows this.

Morrison is caught between the rock of at least 73% opinion that is demanding the Govt. do more on global warming and the hard place/"dark side" of his conservative factions. He is in a double bind where cannot concede to act on GHG emissions because he will lose authority as leader and the demands of his electorate and the nation that Morrison Leads the nation by taking real action on GHG and develops a transition plan so that coal miners aren't left unemployed after the coal mines and generators close.

I thought it quite telling that Morrison's attacking response was more in line with Opposition rhetoric, quite emotive and pulling out every attack line he could think of, rather than addressing the concerns of the community.

To my view, Albanese is as ineffectual as Shorten and trying to develop coherent policies that will take Aus into the future as Shorten did. This leaves him open to attack so he and Labs are quite vulnerable to such rhetoric. Rhetorical spin is Morrison's morning cup of coffee - its stimulates him. But his response also showed that he is scared and losing it. He knows he is wrong IMO... his days are numbered.

Will Morrison make it to the next election? I doubt it. His supporters seem to be growing thin just as his credibility and political capital is rapidly depleting.

    Scott.
